●Wildfire never burns down, the spring breeze blows again (Yabi yake mo tsuki zu Shunpu fuki te matashouzu)…Wildfire refers to fires such as mountains being burned.
After a fierce wildfire engulfed the entire mountain, everything appears to be burned to the ground.
But when the spring wind blows, new life will sprout again.
This verse shows how difficult it is to overcome earthly desires, which will reappear even if one thinks they have been completely eradicated.
Originally, this was a verse from a poem by Bai Juyi, lamenting the never-ending sadness.
● Seifuu (fresh breeze): A refreshing wind. A clean breeze. Also, a fresh air or mood.
● "Kekkajinen ni naru" ("It will come to fruition naturally")...It is said to be a phrase from the Denpo-ge that was passed down to Huike by Bodhidharma, the founder of Zen Buddhism.
It forms a couplet with "One flower blooms and five leaves."
"I originally came to this land to teach the Dharma and free people from delusion. A single flower blooms and five petals bloom, resulting in a natural outcome."
It is a wonderful phrase that embodies the essence of the profound Buddhist teachings, but it has long been loved and sung as a phrase for bringing good fortune due to its association with the words "open" and "become."
Do everything you can to the best of your ability, and then just wait for the fruits to come naturally.
