● Three thousand feet straight down the waterfall (takichokkasanzenjo)…The waterfall falls straight down for 3,000 feet. This phrase emphasizes the coolness and combines words to evoke the coolness of summer.
●Kouunryusui (flowing clouds and water)...A metaphor for acting naturally, without getting too attached to things, like clouds moving through the sky or flowing water.
It is also an analogy for something not having a fixed form, but rather changing naturally and smoothly.
"Gyōun" means clouds passing through the sky. "Ryūsui" means flowing water. It is also sometimes used as an analogy for Zen monks who travel around the country to train.
● Mountains and rivers have pure sounds…Zuo Si, a poet from the Western Jin Dynasty
It means that mountains, rivers, and nature have clear, pure sounds.
A pure sound produced by the natural world, without any artificiality. A natural world without any artificial additions.
●One rain moistens a thousand mountains...Even though the rain only wets you a little, if you look around you it seems to slowly moisten everything.
