● Snow heaped on the inside of a silver bowl (Ginwanri ni yuki omoru)...White snow heaped on a silver bowl.
Both are white and cannot be distinguished from a distance, but the bowl and the snow are completely different things.
In short, it means that although they look the same, they are completely different things.
Perhaps because it evokes the sensation of iced water in summer and evokes a refreshing feeling, this five-character line is often used at summer tea ceremonies.
If the host and guest are two independent persons yet are one and the same, and yet function as two separate personalities in a "harmonious but not identical" way, then at the very least it will be a tea ceremony that conforms to the principle of "piling snow on the back of a silver bowl."
