●Gion Festival: A festival held at Yasaka Shrine (Gionsha) in Higashiyama Ward, Kyoto City, which was called "Gion Goryoe" (Goryo-e) until the Meiji period.
It is a long festival that takes place over a month starting from July 1st.
The festival events are roughly divided into those sponsored by Yasaka Shrine and those sponsored by the Yamahokocho. The events sponsored by the Yamahokocho are generally recognized as the "Gion Festival."
Among these, only the Yamahoko festival floats have been designated as an Important Intangible Folk Cultural Property.

[Nishigaki Avenue] Gokurakuji Temple
Born in Hyogo Prefecture in 1942
In 1949, Nishigaki Soko was ordained as a monk at the Daitoku Sodo, and later at the Sokoku Sodo.
1976: Completed master's course at Bukkyo University Graduate School
In 1978, he became the chief priest of the Mannenzan Gokuraku Zen Temple of the Daitokuji School in Kinosaki, Hyogo Prefecture.

[Sone Yukikaze]
Born in Awataguchi, Kyoto in 1936
1956 Graduated from Kyoto Prefectural Ceramic Art College (Ceramics Department)
(Studied pottery under the late potter Koura Takashima)
In 1957, he became a ceramic artist under the late Living National Treasure Tomimoto Kenkichi.
In 1973, the kiln was opened in Higashiyama, Kyoto (Kofugama).
Trained in pottery at a pottery studio in Higashiyama, Kyoto until 1978
In 1989, the kiln was moved to Fushimi, Kyoto.
