Born in Kyoto in 1943. A Suegama kiln artist who revived the Suegama kiln, which flourished as a kiln for the Kuroda clan in Fukuoka, during the Showa era. Graduated from Tamagawa University's Faculty of Agriculture in 1967. Studied under the 12th Nakazato Muan (Living National Treasure) and the 13th Nakazato Tarouemon. Learned tea ceremony pottery from Kaneshige Sozan (Prefectural Intangible Cultural Property) (1909-1995) and the younger brother of Living National Treasure Kaneshige Toyo, and further from his father, Narinobu (Fudoan). Built a split-bamboo climbing kiln in Sarayama, Suemachi, Fukuoka Prefecture, and became independent in 1972. Full member of the Japan Crafts Council. Kiln name: Suegama
