Born in 1958 as the eldest son of Shigetoshi Nakazato (the third son of the previous Nakazato Muan). Graduated from the ceramics department of Arita Industrial Co., Ltd. in 1976. Helped out at the Sangen kiln established by his father. Visited Changsha kiln in China to study ancient Chinese ceramics, led by the late Tsuguo Mikami. Exhibited at the 34th Saga Prefectural Exhibition, and won the Prefectural Board of Education Award (since then, held a solo exhibition every year at Shinjuku Isetan).
1985: First selection at the 17th Nitten Exhibition 1986: Awarded the Tokiji Porcelain Industry Association Prize (and won a first prize at the 83rd Kyushu Yamaguchi Porcelain Exhibition), among other awards 1980: Studied under Miyagawa Kosei 1987: Built a kiln in Chijiga, Karatsu City
