Karatsu ware kiln Kagamiyama kiln Born in Yonago in 1942
While studying at Nihon University, he witnessed the excavation of an old kiln and became fascinated with ceramics.
Born in Ishikawa Prefecture, he was taught the tea ceremony by the Saitama Prefecture potter (master craftsman) Nurishi Tansai.
1969: Opened a kiln at the foot of Mt. Kagami
He served as chairman of the Karatsu Pottery Cooperative Association until 2011.
