He was welcomed into the Nishimura family by the founder of Daitokuji Temple's Kobai-in Temple, where his pottery skills were highly praised. He was awarded the "Eiraku" seal along with the "Kawahama branch" seal by Tokugawa Harutaka of Kishu, and has since taken the surname Eiraku.
He achieved great fame by demonstrating a wide variety of pottery techniques, including elegant Kyoto-style Japanese pottery.
