What is Mosan Copy?
This is a type of Goryeo tea bowl, and is one of the original tea bowls made to order from Korea.
It is said that in 1639, Nakaniwa Shigezo was sent to the Wakan Chawan Kiln, the official kiln of the head family of the Tsushima Domain, which was built within the Wakan building in Busan, Korea, as a master potter, where he instructed Korean potters to fire ordered products.
(The tea bowl official Mozo had tea bowls made to suit the tastes of tea masters, and names such as "Mozo" and "Gen'etsu" remain in the Tsushima Gohon.)

* Graduated from Kyoto Prefectural Pottery Technical College in 1971
*Opened in 1988 in Otsu City, Shiga Prefecture.
Conscious of his position as "Kyoto's Korean tea bowls," he subsequently held solo exhibitions all over the country.
