Graduated from Kyoto Prefectural Pottery Training School in 1969
He studied under his teacher, the first generation, Yoshimitsu Kato, and became independent in 2001.
1982: Won the Mayor's Award at the 25th Overglaze Ceramic Art Exhibition
1987: Won the Kyoto Ceramic Design Protection Association Award at the 30th Overglaze Ceramic Art Exhibition
1991: Won the Kyoto Chamber of Commerce and Industry Chairman's Award and the Tachiyoshi Award at the 33rd Overglaze Ceramic Art Exhibition
1993: Won a prize at the 30th Touekai 30th Anniversary Exhibition
1998: Won the Kyoto Chamber of Commerce and Industry Chairman's Award at the 40th Uwae Ceramic Art Exhibition
