● Shiotan-gata (salt box type) is a small jar with a bulging body and a narrow opening. Originally, it was used to hold salt, miso paste, etc., and is said to have been given to tea masters as a tea bowl for midwinter or to light the fire at tea ceremonies.

Recognized as a holder of the Seto Intangible Cultural Property for his Ofukeyu glaze.
Born in Akatsu, Seto City, Aichi Prefecture in 1948
In 1970, he studied under his father, the Nitten-affiliated artist Karasaburo 30th.

Judge for the 27th Tokai Traditional Crafts Exhibition in 1996
Currently, he is the Secretary of the Tokai Branch of the Japan Crafts Association.
