In 1986, he won the Excellence Award at the Tanabe Museum of Art Exhibition on Tea Ceremony.
In 1987, he received the Yamaguchi Prefecture Arts and Culture Promotion Encouragement Award.
In 2002, he was recognized as a guardian of an intangible cultural asset designated by Yamaguchi Prefecture.
