It was fired at the Muta-do kiln in Mino, and its distorted shape, unrestrained shavings, and underglaze iron painting are in keeping with Oribe's tastes. It was originally owned by the Fuyuki family in Edo, and in the mid-1880s it was transferred to the ownership of Takayasu of the Mitsui family of Muromachi.
This tea bowl is a copy of that one.
