1968: Completed the design course at the Kyoto Prefectural Ceramic Training Institute
In 1968, he joined the Kyoto Iroe Ceramics School.
In 1974, he opened a tea pottery kiln under the name Matsuka.
In 1977, he won the Kyoto Mayor's Award at the Kyoto Yakiiroe Ceramic Art Exhibition. Since then, he has won many awards and held many solo exhibitions.
