[(Unzen)] Fushina ware
The sixth generation of Rakuzan ware, Kusai, was the second son of Unzen, the second generation head of the Tsuchiya family of Fujina ware, and was adopted by order of the feudal lord.
The quality of Fushina ware improved under the guidance of Tsuchiya Zenshiro, who moved from Rakuzan Kiln at the behest of the feudal domain, and it is now produced at the feudal kilns of Tsuchiya and Nagahara, who were under the guidance of Lord Matsudaira Fumai, and at private kilns run by the descendants of the Funaki clan.
Zenshiro Tsuchiya was given the Unzen seal by Lord Fumai, and the name Unzen has continued for nine generations to the present day.
Color painting was introduced by Kusai.
