Born in 1910
1928: Employed at the National Ceramics Research Institute
In 1937, he worked as a chief potter at Hitachi Research Laboratory, Hitachi Ltd. and the art pottery company Omigawa Ceramic Arts.
In 1947, he built a climbing kiln in Aomijima-dorimachi, Kita-Nagato Quasi-National Park, and started producing Hagi ware.
In 1952, he was invited by the 12th generation Sakakura Shinbei, a holder of intangible cultural properties, to work together with him on the production of Hagi ware, and later opened his own kiln.
He will hold solo exhibitions thereafter.
