Nogata City, Fukuoka, is the birthplace of Takatori ware, with two kilns, Takuma Kiln and Uchigaiso Kiln, opened during the Edo period and continuing Oribe's style of ware.
Uchigaiso Kiln Takatori Ware
Born in January 1946
Graduated from Fukuoka Prefectural Kokura High School in 1964
Graduated from Tochigi Prefectural Ceramics Training Center in 1967
In 1969, he started his own furnace business in Mashiko Town.
1972: Takatori ware and Uchigaiso kiln opened in Nogata city.
Since then, he has held numerous solo exhibitions at galleries in Kitakyushu and Fukuoka, as well as at "Izutsuya" and other venues.
