嵯峨野の桜（さがののさくら）とは…6代 佐野藤右衛門低の桜
祖父である題4代藤右衛門氏から続く日本全国のサクラの保存活動を継承。
14代・15代と共に三代にわたり「桜守」として知られ、祇園枝垂桜など多くの桜栽培品種を見出し、増殖し、その名を広めた。
1832年天保3年 代々、仁和寺御室御所の造園を担ってきた。
桂離宮、修学院の整備を手掛ける。
パリ・ユネスコ本部の日本庭園をイサム・ノグチ氏と協力して造成。
2005年平成17年 京都迎賓館の庭園を棟梁として造成。
