Lived in Uji Tanzan with kiln. Born in Gojozaka, Kyoto in 1944. Graduated from Kyoto Municipal Hiyoshigaoka High School, Art Course, Ceramic Artist, in 1962. Graduated from Kyoto Prefectural Ceramic Technical College, in 1963. Graduated from Kyoto Crafts Testing Institute, in 1965. Participated in the establishment of Tanzan Craft Village Cooperative Association, and studied under his father, Katsuzo. Became a Kiyomizu-yaki traditional craftsman.
