(Tohfukugama) Born in Kyoto in 1977 as the eldest son of Nakamura Gensui. Received training in pottery at Jukoin Temple, Daitokuji Temple in 1993. Studied under his father, the first-generation Gensui, in 2000, and continues to study pottery using traditional techniques. In 2005, he succeeded Nakamura Gensui II. In 2006, he held his first solo exhibition at the Art Salon at Takashimaya Kyoto.

Tofuku Kiln: 1975, Yoshihisa Nakamura opened a kiln near Tofukuji Temple. In 1994, Jukoin Kansei Kankai appointed him the name Gensui.
