●Goshomaru is...a type of Korean tea bowl made during the Joseon Dynasty. It is said to have been named "Goshomaru" because it was an official ship of the Tokugawa Shogunate, and a trading ship with Korea was called "Goshomaru."
The original (genuine) version is said to have been produced at the Gimhae kiln near Busan in the southern part of the Korean peninsula, under the direction of the Momoyama period tea master Furuta Oribe.
It has a shoe-shaped shape with a beaded rim and a body divided into a section that leaves parallel carved marks and a rounded waist section with large spatula marks, creating a low pentagonal base.
