Born in 1944 in Shigaraki, Koka City, Shiga Prefecture
Graduated from Shiga Prefectural Zeze High School in 1963
He started making pottery under his master, and while working in the family business, he studied under the late Kenzo Koga (head of the Tea Ceremony Culture Research Institute) and the late Kinsho Shimizu, an elder of Todaiji Temple, in pursuit of the beauty of fine tea ceremony ware.
In 1973, he was given the tea master's name "Munehisa"
September 2012: Certified as an intangible cultural asset of Koka City
June 2013 (70th birthday) Held an event to celebrate the recognition of Koka City as an intangible cultural asset
2013 President of the Shigaraki Pottery Traditional Craftsmen Association
