Born in Kyoto in 1959. Graduated from Kyoto Municipal Hiyoshigaoka High School, Art and Crafts Course, Japanese Painting Department in 1977. Graduated from Kyoto Prefectural Ceramic Technical College in 1981. Teacher: Gyokudou Tezuka, 2nd Generation Toraku. Succeeded to the 3rd Generation Toraku in 1996. Received the Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry Chairman's Award at the Traditional Crafts Exhibition in 2006. Traditional Craftsman, Member of the Glaze Research Group of Dr. Tokuji Yamamoto, Ph.D.
