Born in Yamashiro-cho, Kyoto Prefecture in 1950. Graduated from the Kyoto Prefectural Potter Vocational Training Institute in 1966. Studied under the first generation master, Kato Josui. 1988. Awarded the Osaka Bureau of Trade and Industry Director's Prize at the 10th Kyoyaki and Kiyomizuyaki Exhibition. 1994. Won an award at the 23rd Kinki Exhibition of Japanese Traditional Crafts. 1995. Won an award at the 24th Kinki Exhibition of Japanese Traditional Crafts. Held an exhibition with four people in France. 2003. Certified as a Kyoyaki and Kiyomizuyaki traditional craftsman. Moved his studio to Yamashiro Taga. Since then, won numerous awards at department stores and public exhibitions.
