●Saotome: Originally a word referring to women who plant rice seedlings, "sa" means the god of the rice fields, and the seedlings used for rice planting were called "sanae" and the women who planted them were called "saotome."
Rice seedlings are planted in May. They are also called "Saotome" (May girl).

In 1943, he became an apprentice to Master Takahashi Koshu at the Shogon-in Temple, a subtemple of Tofukuji Temple.
In 1951, he learned from Master Hayashi Keikyo of the Tofukuji Temple Specialized Tsuba Hanging Tower.
Graduated from Osaka Kyoiku University in 1955
In 1960, he became the head priest of Myoki-an Temple.

Born in Kyoto in August 1947
In 1964, he met his teacher, bamboo craftsman Takano Soryo.
After graduating from the craft department of Fushimi Technical High School in 1966, he began studying bamboo crafts.
In 1970, he was given the name Soshin.
