Born in 1968
He trained at the Daitokuji monastery under Master Reiun, the chief priest of Daitokuji.
In 2012, he became the chief priest of the Daitokuji subtemple (Kohōan).

[Kohōan] Subtemple of Daitokuji Temple
Kohoan was founded in 1612 by Kobori Enshu, who built the hermitage within the grounds of Ryukoin Temple. It was founded by Enshu's teacher, Kogetsu Sogan.
The hermitage title "Kohō" means "lonely boat" and was bestowed on him by Shūnoku Sōen, who was the teacher of Kobori Seiichi (Enshū).

In 1964, he met his teacher, bamboo craftsman Takano Soryo.
After graduating from the craft department of Fushimi Technical High School in 1966, he began studying bamboo crafts.
In 1970, he was given the name Soshin.
