A pine tree that has stood the test of time. By extension, it is a symbol of wishing for the long-lasting prosperity of a person or organization.
●What is pre-carving? In the Muromachi period, most tea scoops were made by "cha scoop makers", but after Rikyu, the making of tea scoops was transferred to "tea masters", and the role of "cha scoop makers" became extremely faint, and eventually the "pre-carving" was done by tea masters.

Born in Kyoto in 1925 (Taisho 14), his name was Kazuhiko and he was the eldest son of the 11th generation Mutekisai Soya.

[Hisada family] The name of the Hisada family's hermitage is Hanshoan, which refers to the two-tatami medium-sized tea room built by the third head priest, Sozen.
The Hisada family was the husband of the daughter of the third head priest, Sotan, and is of Rikyu's bloodline. If the family line was in danger of dying out, a son was adopted from the Hisada family.
