[Sanzen-in] Daitokuji Temple
The temple was founded in 1579 by three people, Ishida Mitsunari, Asano Yukinaga, and Mori Tadamasa, with the founder being the Priest Shun'yaku, and is famous as the training ground for Priests Takuan and Sen Sotan.
Among the disciples of the monk Haruya were the monks Gyokumuro and Kogetsu Sogan, who fought against the evil decrees of the Tokugawa Shogunate and showed the dignity of Daitokuji to the world. It is well known that Konoe Nobutada, Kuga Atsutsu, Furuta Oribe, Yabuuchi Kenchu, Kobori Enshu, Kuroda Nagamasa, Kuwayama Shigeharu, Seta Sobe, and Yamaoka Somuto all practiced Zen here. In addition, the graves of Ishida Mitsunari and Furuta Oribe are located here, and the teahouse is called Kouan, which was designed by Furuta Oribe.
