●Tea scoop with the inscription "Yugami" and a copy of Rikyu's work...Hosokawa Sansai was given the "Yugami" tea scoop by Rikyu.
The tube was made by Sansai, with all the bark removed, a paulownia wood lid with a sword mark and the markings identifying it as "Kyuno's work", and a large carved hole near the bottom.
The original tea scoop is made of real bamboo and has a very deep groove.
This "Yugami" tea scoop is made from madake bamboo.
The subnode is chipped on both sides from the cut end to the center of the subnode.
There is a small insect hole in the center of the pointed lenticel that penetrates to the back, and there are insect marks on the back that extend almost to the end of the cut.
The word "distorted" probably comes from the fact that it is distorted significantly to the left with the middle segment as its axis.
Both the tube and the tea scoop have been faithfully reproduced from the original.
