He studied under Takahashi Keisuke, a kettle maker living in Yamagata and an artist who inherits the tradition of Oshu Yamagata casting. Born January 19, 1937, from Yamagata Prefecture. Since his first selection in 1973, he has been selected for the Japan Traditional Crafts Exhibition more than 10 times. He won the Japan Crafts Association Tokyo Branch Award at the 5th Traditional Crafts Musashino Store and has been selected for the Traditional Crafts Japanese Metalwork Exhibition 12 times. In 1982, he was certified as a Japanese traditional craftsman and became a full member of the Japan Crafts Association. In 1991, he won the Yamagata City Skill Merit Award. In 1998, he won the Yamagata Prefecture Outstanding Craftsman Award. In 2002, he was awarded the Traditional Crafts Merit Award. He has been selected for the Japan Metalwork New Works Exhibition 15 times.
