Yamanaka Lacquer Artist Born in Ishikawa Prefecture in 1942. Studied under his father in 1946 and devoted himself to studying tea ceremony utensils. Received instruction in tea ceremony from the late Nakao Munekazu in 1967. Received the Forestry Agency Director General's Award at the National Lacquerware Exhibition (Mitsukoshi Main Store, Tokyo) in 1979. Received the Governor's Award at the National Lacquerware Exhibition (Mitsukoshi Main Store, Tokyo) in 1982. Received the Seiurushi Association Award at the National Lacquerware Exhibition (Mitsukoshi Main Store, Tokyo) in 1983. Received the tea ceremony name (Muneyoshi) in 1987.
In 1992, he became an associate professor of tea ceremony. In 1994, he received instruction in pottery from Kaga Koto Ueno Yoichi. In 1996, he was selected for the Ishikawa Prefectural Exhibition.
