●Hatsuyume (first dream)...The dream you see on the first night you sleep in the new year.
Many people think that it refers to dreams seen from the night of New Year's Eve to New Year's Day, but the more commonly accepted theory is that it refers to dreams seen from New Year's Day to the 2nd.
●Toka Ebisu (Toka Ebisu)…Held annually on January 10th, mainly in the Kansai region.
This festival is held to pray to Ebisu, one of the Seven Lucky Gods, for prosperity in business and bountiful catches.
People buy lucky rakes and lucky bamboo, which are bamboo leaves with lucky charms tied to them.
There are various theories about the origin of Fukuzasa, but the main reasons are thought to be: 1) It was named after Ebisu's fishing rod, which was made of bamboo; 2) Bamboo leaves have great vitality and grow even in flood-prone water areas, and because they have a sterilizing effect on food, they were used for purifying shrines.
