●Matsu ni koko no iro nashi (pine tree is eternal, past and present)…The green of the pine tree means that it is always fresh and lush throughout the four seasons, past and present.
● Bamboo has distinct nodes from top to bottom (take ni jōge no fushi ari)...Bamboo has clearly defined nodes from top to bottom, a phrase that contrasts this with the world of discrimination.
● A single speck of snow…This is a place of correct mindfulness in zazen samadhi, where all worldly desires and delusions have been eradicated. No evil thoughts can approach here. Delusion and evil are like a flake of snow falling on a red-hot furnace with crimson flames, melting in an instant and disappearing without a trace.
●Meirekirekitsuyu dodo...It means that it is clear and obvious, with nothing to hide.

Gokurakuji Temple Kinosaki, Hyogo Prefecture
Born in Hyogo Prefecture in 1942
In 1949, Nishigaki Soko was ordained as a monk at the Daitoku Sodo, and later at the Sokoku Sodo.
1976: Completed master's course at Bukkyo University Graduate School
In 1978, he became the chief priest of the Mannenzan Gokuraku Zen Temple of the Daitokuji School in Kinosaki, Hyogo Prefecture.
