● The fragrant wind comes from the south (Kunpu ji nanrai, Kunpu minami yori kitaru)… The refreshing wind of early summer blows in from the south. Fragrant May. The southern wind carrying the scent of fresh greenery is likened to a refreshing state of enlightenment, free from attachments and grudges.
A fragrant breeze blew in from the south, making the palace a cool and comfortable space. Su Dongpo added, "Only when the world is a comfortable place to live for all the people can he be the Son of Heaven."
