●What is a Ginfuu shelf? It is a small shelf with four pillars finished with urushi-lacquer, the top and bottom boards are rectangular, the two front pillars are made of white bamboo and the two across are paulownia. White bamboo is placed at the bottom of three sides - the guest side, the kitchen side and the across - and the guest side and the kitchen side have paulownia wainscoting with maple openwork fitted underneath the bamboo.
This shelf was favored by Genmoku Soshitsu, the 16th head of the Urasenke school, Zabosai.
*Can be used with both ro and furo.
