●What is a Tsurezure Dana? There are two types: one with a paulownia ground Shunkei lacquer finish and one with a mulberry ground finish. It is a diamond-shaped double shelf with three pillars, and under the top there is a double-panel pull-out shelf with two pull-out panels. The two doors are painted with pictures of sea-familiar pine trees and have handles made of iris bark cords. Under the double-panel shelves there is a small shelf, one on the guest side and two on the kitchen side, with a waistboard with Narihira diamond patterning.
This shelf was favored by the 14th head of the Urasenke school, Mugensai Sekoso Soshitsu, who was known by his Buddhist name Tantansai.
It is also called "Narihiradana."
