●What is a Jusendana? It has three pillars with red lacquer and the front right side of the tabletop is rounded off. The pillars are made of white bamboo at the front of the kitchen, plum horn at the back, and pine at the back of the guest room. There are horizontal bars on the back of the shelf and at the kitchen, and fan-shaped waistboards are fitted into three sides. It is a small shelf with legs on all four corners of the base.
This shelf was favored by the 15th head of the Urasenke school, Hounsai, and head of the Hanso Soshitsu family.
It became popular in 1982 and got its name from its pine, bamboo and plum wood and fan-shaped wainscoting.
*Can be used with both ro and furo.
