●What is a Jo'o shelf?...It is a large shelf for the hearth that was favoured by Takeno Jo'o. It is made of cypress wood with a Shunkei lacquer finish, and has a base board with a white Torinoko covering and a base bag measuring 6.1 inches high with small sliding doors set in between, and on top of that there are four pillars and a tabletop.
It is also called "Joou Fukurodana."
"Sado Sentei" states, "The Sho'o shelf was formerly called the Sho'o bag shelf, and is the current Sho'o shelf. It was made of wood from a plane owned by Sho'o, and the large edge of the sliding door is made of old gold brocade on a light green background, while the small edge is made of old gold brocade on a gold background. It is accompanied by a Nanban Sahari water jar. It was owned by Yamanaka Eizaburo, and in the seagull's song, "My name is Daikokuan, and so I have hidden my secrets in the bag shelf."

Born in Ishikawa Prefecture in 1932
In 1946, he studied under his master and devoted himself to learning tea ceremony utensils.
In 1967, he received instruction in tea ceremony from the late Professor Munekazu Nakao.
1979: Won the Forestry Agency Director General's Award at the National Lacquerware Exhibition (Mitsukoshi Main Store, Tokyo)
1982: Received the Governor's Award at the National Lacquerware Exhibition (Mitsukoshi Main Store, Tokyo)
1983: Won the Seishitsu Association Award at the National Lacquerware Exhibition (Mitsukoshi Main Store, Tokyo)
1987: Received the tea master's name (Muneyoshi)
1992: Associate Professor of Tea Ceremony
In 1994, he received instruction in pottery from Yoichi Ueno, a master of Kaga pottery.
Selected for the Ishikawa Prefectural Exhibition in 1996
