[Kaya-woven dishcloth]
Kaya weaving, a Nara craft, is a coarse, thin fabric that was introduced before the Nara period and is used for mosquito nets, which allow wind to pass through but keep mosquitoes out.
The demand for mosquito net fabric has decreased due to changes in lifestyle, so we wanted to somehow make use of this material in manufacturing, and so we created a functional "dishcloth."
These durable dish towels are made from five layers of cotton woven fabric sewn together, and are highly absorbent. They become softer with use, making them ideal for use as dish towels, counter towels, and hand towels.
