●Orisue is a folding box made of cardboard or cloth, and is a basic tool of the Shichijishiki.
During the session, the box is used to store Kagetsu and Setsugetsu Hanafuda cards, which are passed around to determine roles, cards to certify the tea ceremony, and name papers.
It is also said that they are sometimes used to decide roles and the order of guests before a ceremony.
There are three types, called "small fold-out," "medium fold-out," and "large fold-out."
The small folding screen has each side measuring approximately 7.5cm, and the number "ichi" (one) is written on the opening so that you can tell which is the top and which is the bottom.
In the case of Urasenke, it seems to be used in the Kagetsu Ceremony, Ichi-Ni-San Ceremony, Sen'yū Ceremony, Homma Ceremony, Santomo Ceremony, and Showa Ceremony.
The folding screen has each side of about 9.0 cm, the character "seki" is written at the opening, and it is said to be used in the Setsugekka no Shiki ceremony.
The large folding screen is made up of three pieces with each side measuring 15cm, and the numbers "one," "two," and "three" are written on the opening.
It seems that the three-piece set is used in the Chakabuki ceremony, and only the large fold of "ichi" seems to be used in the Incha ceremony and Hanayose ceremony.
Shichijishiki is a method of tea ceremony training that was established by Joshinsai, the 7th head of the Omotesenke school, in consultation with his brother, Itto Soshitsu, the 8th head of the Urasenke school, and other senior disciples, including Kawakami Fuhaku.
The seven ritual methods are: Kagetsu, Saza, Chakabuki, Kazucha, Mawaricharcoal, Mawaribana, and Ichi-ni-san.
Size: Approx. 9cm x 9cm
Material: Paper
Note: The color of the retaining strip may vary.
