●What is a sencha tray? It is a tray used for serving sencha tea, but there are various uses, shapes, and materials.
There are large trays, trays called temaebon, which are used when performing tea ceremonies on top of a tray, as well as trays in shapes that are not often seen in everyday use, such as leaf trays shaped like banana leaves and long, thin single-character trays.
Furthermore, there are many different schools of Sencha tea, and the names and trays used differ for each school.
Sencha trays are broadly divided into three types: front tray, sanki tray, and carrying tray, and are called various names depending on their size and shape.

●Ichimonjibon...one of the carrying trays.
It is a long, narrow tray large enough to hold five tea bowls.
Its width is roughly the same as that of a woman's waist, and is designed to make her movements look beautiful.
