● Mandokoro kettle...Also called the Kiku Kiri kettle, this tea kettle has a chrysanthemum and paulownia pattern on the body.

Toru Murakawa, a film director, is his son-in-law. He was a member of the Japan Crafts Association (Incorporated Association) and was born in September 1920. He passed away in June 2009 at the age of 88. He is a metalworker who is a living national treasure for casting. He studied under Takushi Nagano.
1951 (Showa 26) First time selected for the Nitten Exhibition
In 1961, Showa 36, Emperor Showa visited Yamagata Prefecture and presented a kettle to the Emperor.
1972: Japan Traditional Crafts Audit Committee Member
1979 (Showa 54) The Crown Prince (now Emperor) visited Yamagata Prefecture and presented a kettle to the Emperor.
In 1996, he was recognized as a holder of the Important Intangible Cultural Property "Chanoyu Kettle."
