●Uragokama/Ura-go-kama (Ura-chisel kettle) is one type of shape of tea ceremony kettle. It is made by turning a chisel upside down, drilling a hole in the bottom to make the mouth of the kettle, and then attaching a separately made bottom to it to make it into a kettle.
It can also be written as ura-tsu, ura-ago, ura-ko, and ura-ko.
The chisel is referred to as a "bing chisel" in "Guangyun," as a "burning vessel" in "Jiyun," and as "Today, the 'roasted pan' is called a "bing chisel, but it is also called a 'roasted pan'" in "Zhengzitong." It is thought that this name comes from the fact that the back of the chisel is used as a kettle.
It is said that this idea was inspired by the magnificent bottoms of the chisels made by Tenmei.
The item in Rikyu's possession was created by Yojiro by breaking the back of a Tenmei chisel to make an opening, adding a bottom, and adding a ring.
