[2nd Generation Konishi Heina] Ceramic artist Raku ware
Born in 1928 in Nakayama-cho, Aichi Prefecture, as the fourth son of Kaoru Beppu (his real name was Takashi Beppu).
In 1946, he studied under the first Konishi Heiuchi, who established Taiko Kiln, and pursued pottery techniques.
In 1947, he went to Hironaga Kiln at the foot of Haseyama in Tsu City to study under Kawakita Handeishi. He continued this life of pottery making for several years.
In 1964, he took on the name of the second Konishi Heinai and inherited the Taiko Kiln, continuing to make pottery in Kabutoyama, Nishinomiya City.
In October 1964, he held his first solo exhibition at Osaka Mitsukoshi, and subsequently held numerous solo exhibitions at Tokyo Mitsukoshi, Nagoya Maruei, Nagoya Matsuzakaya, Kobe Sogo, Himeji Yamatoyashiki, etc. He mainly produces works using Raku ware and Iga pottery techniques.
In 1976, at the request of the Japan Foundation, he held a Raku ware demonstration sponsored by the Japan Cultural Institute in Rome.
In 1986, the 5th Taikogama Konishi Heina Tea Ceramics Exhibition was held at Matsuzakaya Department Store in Nagoya.
