●Large Natsume Autumn Field Maki-e…During the Momoyama period, autumn grass maki-e was popularly used for a variety of items.
Rikyu applied this to a natsume (Japanese tea container), with pampas grass, bush clover, wild chrysanthemums and other flowers beautifully painted all over the outside and inside of the container, and large and small circles representing dew, all painted in gold lacquer.
This was made with urushi lacquer.

[(Real name Junichi)] Maki-e artist in Osaka
Born in Osaka in 1935, the son of a lacquer artist, Ryukichi Okutsu (a Western-style Nitten artist), he began studying lacquer art in the sixth grade of elementary school.
In 1970, he won the Higashiosaka Crafts Association Award at the 4th Higashiosaka City Cultural Festival Crafts Section.
In 1976, he won the Higashiosaka Crafts Association Chairman's Award at the 10th Higashiosaka City Cultural Festival Crafts Section.
1977: Received the Osaka Crafts Association President's Award at the 19th Osaka Crafts Exhibition
