Born in Yamanaka-cho in 1951. Studied under Maki-e artist Konaka Juzan in 1967. Studied under Maki-e artist Nomura Daisen in 1971. Became an auditor at the Kanazawa University of Art and Design, lacquer department in 1974. Became independent as a Kaga Yamanaka Maki-e artist in 1975.
