●What is Yukibuki tea utensils?...Snow blowing and flying around is called a "yukibuki," but as the name for a thin tea utensil, it is written upside down as "yukibuki."
The name is said to have been given because, with its shape and sleeves, it is difficult to distinguish between top and bottom, like walking in a blizzard and not being sure of which is up or down.
They are available in plain versions, or with lacquer applied to the entire surface or just the beveled parts.
