Born in Ishikawa Prefecture in 1941, Yamanaka-cho, Ishikawa Prefecture. Studied under his father in 1951. Received training in Ikkan-nuri lacquer in Kyoto and began making tea ceremony utensils. Exhibited at the Ishikawa Prefectural Traditional Crafts Museum in 1984.
