●What is a Jurin Natsume? A very auspicious natsume made as a gift to commemorate the wedding of Master Hounsai.
The outside has a chrysanthemum and paulownia pattern on top of a thousand stripes, and the inside is a natsume teacup embossed with gold leaf.

Yamanaka lacquer artist born in Ishikawa Prefecture in 1942.
In 1946, he learned lacquer art from his father and continued to hone his skills in this field. In 1987, he was granted the tea ceremony name Sokyo.

Born in 1923, he is the eldest son of the 14th head priest, Tantansai. In 1949, he was ordained by Master Goto Zuigan, the chief priest of Daitokuji Temple. In 1964, he became the 15th head priest of the Urasenke school after the 14th head priest, Tantansai Soshitsu, and took on the name Soshitsu as the head priest of Urasenke Konnichian. In 1973, he was given the Buddhist name Kyoshin by Master Kajiura Itsugai, the chief priest of Myoshinji Temple, and became the head priest of Kyoshinan. As the head priest of the Urasenke school, he spread the tea ceremony around the world, and was awarded the Order of Culture in 1997. In 2002, he passed the basilica to Master Zabosai, and changed his name to Sen Genshitsu.
