What is Akoda Tea Utensils? The original Akoda tea utensils were commissioned by Yamanaka Sochi to be made by Myoshinsai in the shape of the cherry blossom that his father had loved, and the tea utensils were his favorite.
Myoshinsai passed away before the piece was completed, and the completed tea utensils were donated on the first anniversary of his death.
It is also used as a standard ritual for Tennen-ki in the Omotesenke school.
It is an Akoda shape divided into six parts, with an urushi lacquer exterior, black lacquer interior, and a lid made from plum wood.
It is usually used for thin tea, but can also be used for thick tea when placed in a serving utensil (Myoshin Tamakinran).
